  Welcome Tinker Tigers

Proudly serving the children of those who serve our Country

A Florida "A" School

Message from the Principal

Welcome to our website and thank you for taking an interest in our school - General Clarence Tinker K – 8 School… Where Students are Respectful, Responsible, Resilient, and Remarkable.

Tinker K - 8 School is uniquely located on MacDill Air Force Base where our purpose is to deliver quality academic experiences in a nurturing environment to the children of active duty military members living on the base. We also strive to provide support and assistance to our families as they are challenged with deployment and reintegration.

Tinker has been designated an “A” school by the Florida Department of Education for a number of years.  As educators, it is our professional focus not only to meet the individual needs of all our students but to accelerate and extend their learning to higher levels of achievement while they are in our care.  Additionally, we believe that we should instill in our students respect for others, respect for themselves and respect for our school as a place of learning. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff strive every day to ensure all our students feel safe, self-confident and valued.

Tinker K - 8 School has an enthusiastic and tireless Parent Teacher Organization who support and encourage all students by offering incentives for academic achievement.  They also sponsor several events during the school year to promote a healthy lifestyle and most importantly they model the importance of service and “giving back” as an essential quality for children to develop.

We are very proud of our school as a place to learn and grow, and we are honored to serve the children of those who serve our country.

Very respectfully,

Nancy Mooy, Principal
